The Laureus World Sports Awards is an annual ceremony that honors the most remarkable individuals and teams for their sporting achievements Often called the "Oscars of Sport," the event was first held in 2000 and is unique because the winners are chosen by the Laureus World Sports Academy, an exclusive panel of 69 sporting legends.
